Wendy is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist supervised by Dr. Thomas Lucking. She has a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Wendy uses a collaborative and empathic approach to working with her clients allowing for a trusting and open therapeutic relationship. Her style is supportive, direct, warm, and authentic. Wendy is also a life coach and offers a unique blend of encouraging insight and processing emotion with fostering the development of tools and skills to help a client reach their goals.  

Wendy specializes in working with individuals struggling with depression and anxiety helping clients to understand the underlying causes for their symptoms and developing effective strategies for managing and reducing symptoms. Wendy also works with individuals who have experienced trauma such as abuse, neglect and war. She uses multiple modalities, offered at Therapy InMotion, for treating trauma including EMDR, CBT, Narrative, Mindfulness, Neurofeedback, and psycho-education.  Wendy’s integrated approach helps her clients process their traumatic experiences, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and live life more fully.

Wendy also has a strong focus on couples and parenting issues. She helps couples navigate challenges such as communication breakdowns, infidelity, and differences in goals and values. She uses techniques rooted in proven effective approaches to help couples develop deeper bonds, better understanding of one another and greater resilience as a couple. Wendy also helps mothers struggling with depression and anxiety that can come postpartum or simply with the transition to becoming a parent.

Wendy helps Neurodiverse  couples as well. She works under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Lucking, PhD who is a published author, speaker, and expert in the field of Neurodiversity. Wendy supports NT partners who are struggling with social skills, identity formation, behavioral issues, OTRS (Ongoing Traumatic Relationship Syndrome). She uses the Island of Shared meaning model that Dr. Lucking created to support ND relationships and partners to bridge the Neurodiverse gap that these relationships struggle with.

In addition to her valued work as a therapist, Wendy’s other valued role is being the mother of two teenagers and a golden doodle.
