Deanna Thai is a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker who is supervised by Dr Thomas Lucking, PhD. Deanna graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California’s Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. Since graduating, Deanna has worked for community-based organizations and private practice agencies supporting adults, couples, children, and families to cope with trauma, anxiety, and depression. She also has experience working with families who are navigating the foster care system and other child welfare systems, providing therapeutic services to young children and their families.

Deanna is a trauma-informed, culturally competent, attachment-based therapist. This means that she prioritizes trying to understand fully and take into consideration what you have been through and how you perceive the world in her work with you. This also means, Deanna’s therapeutic work is guided by insights discovered through exploring important relationships in your life and how they have affected you.

Prior to getting her master’s degree in the field of social work, Deanna spent a few years working as a behavioral interventionist, specializing in ABA work with individuals on the Autism spectrum. Deanna has a deep understanding of Neurodiverse individuals, how to support them in building an independent lives, and how to support the support system of Neurodiverse individuals.

Deanna is also a first generation Asian American to immigrant parents. Deanna understands the experience of intergenerational trauma and how difficult it can be to break the cycle and rebuild positive relationships with immigrant parents.
