Dr. Roberta Rubin is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 30+ years’ experience working with children, adolescents, couples, families, and adults who are suffering with Anxiety, Depression, Attention Deficient Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). She has an extensive background in providing services to adolescents and parents who have children in middle and high school.  As a result, she has an expansive knowledge of Special Education programs and the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process. She utilizes a solution-focused approach to working with clients.

Dr. Rubin provides parents with strategies to help them support their child to optimize their learning and increase their motivation in school. She assists parents in exploring their child’s barriers to learning. She guides parents with exploring the stressors which may be affecting their child’s academic performance. Dr. Rubin often finds that bullying, strained family relationships, trauma, or other psychological issues interfere with a child’s ability to learn.  Dr. Rubin helps parents explore their parenting style and works with them to determine if this is helping their child.

Dr. Rubin also works with Neurodiverse couples alongside Dr. Thomas Lucking, PhD who is a published author, speaker, and expert in the field of Neurodiversity. Dr. Rubin supports NT partners who are struggling with OTRS (Ongoing Traumatic Relationship Syndrome). She uses the Island of Shared meaning model that Dr. Lucking created to support ND relationships and partners to bridge the Neurodiverse gap that these relationships struggle with.  Dr. Rubin addresses conflict, relational wounds, betrayal, infidelity, and other disconnects that have broken trust and created distance in relationships. This work is built upon the solid communication foundation of the ISM communication model.
